When an individual or citizen collective is determined to change certain unsatisfactory elements of their neighbourhood, they can resort to a fashionable architect, or make use of the experience of Recetas Urbanas. Led by one of the most rebellious architects in Spain, the studio Recetas Urbanas has been working, since 1996, on the development of subversive projects in various areas of urban reality, to help overcome a complicated social life. From the systematic occupation of public spaces with containers to the construction of prosthetics for facades, patios, roofs and even empty plots of land, their projects always walk the line between legality and illegality, as a reminder of the level of control we are subjected to.
