The cannon uses highly concentrated ultrasonic waves to project sonic pulses into rocks and mountains, triggering small controlled explosions. Its purpose was to drill deep underground in search of a citadel of lost civilizations believed to be hidden deep in the Hunza Mountains since time immemorial.
